Mr & Mrs Coveney

Wow! What an amazing (and eventful) day it’s been. I arrived at the Hallmark Hotel Stourport Manor and was shown into the reception hall and ceremony room. “LOVE” lights glistened and the tables were set ready for the guests. I put down my bags and set up my equipment ready for the happy couple to emerge. Down to the finest detail was perfectly put in place.

Firstly Simon, the Groom arrived in the ceremony room. We said hello and had a quick chat while he got ready for the ceremony to start. I had about half an hour to go round and take photos of the table decorations, card table, cake, etc.

After a short while, I made my way to the ceremony room where I continued to take some photos before the guests started to arrive. Soon after, the seats started to fill with friends and family of the Bride and Groom, eagerly awaiting her arrival.

Simon walked to the front of the aisle and I gave him a reassuring smile. “How are you feeling?” I asked.

“Nervous” he replied.

“It’s normal to feel that way but there’s nothing to be nervous about, you’re in a room full of people who love you both and you’re about to marry the woman you already know you want to spend the rest of your life with. Try not to stress, everything will be fine. Sophia will be here soon. I’ll be here all day if you need anything anyway.”

“Yeah, you’re right. Thanks Fi”

Simon bent down to redo Conor’s tie to make it perfect for his Mummy.

The music started playing and the bridesmaids arrived down the aisle. I raised my eyebrows as Simon looked at me just to let him know she was on her way. Simon looked back to watch his beautiful Bride Sophia gracefully walked down the aisle, holding onto her Mum and Dad’s arms. She stood next to Simon and they looked into each other’s eyes. The happy couple both shed a tear as did the rest of us and they proceeded with their vows, it was a beautiful ceremony.

The afternoon was sunny and warm and we had a few hours to kill before food and the evening entertainment stated. I grabbed my camera and headed off to take photos of the guests congratulating the new Mr & Mrs Coveney.

The children were playing out in the grounds gardens climbing a small tree. I grabbed my camera and made my way over to them.

“Hey guys! What you all doing over here? Do you mind if I take some photos of you playing?”

Of course they didn’t mind. We had sticks as light sabres and hanging from branches competitions. They were naturals!

It was time for the Wedding Breakfast so I took this time to order myself some food from the bar. I tend not to hang around while people are eating, I wouldn’t feel comfortable someone taking photos of me with a mouth full of sticky toffee pudding.

After food was finished, everyone came back outside to enjoy the sunshine. All of a sudden, I heard an “OUCH!” from one of the Bridesmaids. She had been stung by a wasp and had a swollen lump on her arm. Shortly after that, a child fell over and grazed her knees. I went to the bathroom to get a wet paper towel to put on her knees to make her feel better.
